How it all Started
Bela Chordia, had always wanted to start a business and dabble in food, but she postponed her dreams as she wished to wear the mom’s hat and raise her kids before committing to a full-blown career as a snacking entrepreneur.
Born in a family of Chartered Accountants, Bela was blessed with an eye for detail which she put to good use when she launched AGMA HEALTH FOODS & MERCHANDISING LLP, 20 years after the thought first crossed her mind.
With enormous encouragement from her family, Bela set out to create AGMA around the theme of adding an innovative touch to traditional Indian recipes.
Her first brainchild was ‘Superb’, a brand that’s all about good health. Keeping in line with the concept of health, Bela channeled the master chef in her and developed the recipes for Multi-Millet Dosa, and Millet Pongal. Then she dug into age-old Tamil recipes and gave it a refreshing twist with her own versions of Tomato Chutney, Puliodharai paste, Curry Leaf paste etc.
Her ‘Superb’ experience gave her deep insights on how Southerners react to new concepts in food. Heartened with it, she went on to launch ‘Hungrezi’, a light, breezy and tasty take on ethnic snacks.
With Hungrezi, the aim is to serve lip-smacking fusion food rich in authenticity and taste, topped with a subtle blend of suprises.
A conscious effort has been made to craft Hungrezi from hand-picked ingredients using barely any oil. Infused with homemade flavours and global sensibilities, Hungrezi offers a unique mix of North Indian and South Indian snacks in vibrant packs.
The brand’s Khakra sticks, Dips, Chivdas and Mixes have started to develop a cult following and so in all probability, Hungrezi will be going places. Way beyond the shores of Chennai.
